NRG – Vikings Chilled Water Distribution

Share Project:

Corval was awarded the interior and exterior construction packages to provide chilled water from the NRG Main Plant to US Bank Stadium. The interior package consisted of coordinated tie-ins at the main plant and approximately 600’ of welded 24” pipe. Once complete, the exterior package was begun from the Main Plant through the streets of downtown Minneapolis. 2900’ of excavation, pipe install, and street restoration was completed in a 5 month period. Chilled water flow was provided to the stadium in September, 8 months earlier than required. Corval worked closely with OSHA, NRG, and the City of Minneapolis to ensure the project was completed incident free with as little impact to visitors, residents, and workers as possible.
