Cargill – Cocoa & Chocolate

Corval provided general contracting and mechanical construction services at Cargill’s Cocoa & Chocolate Process plant. The bean-to-bar facility, constructed in the 1970s, is where Cargill cleans, sorts, roasts, and grinds raw cocoa beans to produce bar chocolate. Corval’s scope included small projects and maintenance of conveyors, pug mills, grinders, roasters and bucket elevators, as well as the piping systems for pneumatic conveyance, fire protection and underground sewer. Projects included installation of new equipment to update their manufacturing systems in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), emphasizing food safety.
